About Lucy Hyde
Lucy Hyde Therapy is a counselling practice based in Cockenzie, East Lothian (near Edinburgh) that offers in-person, outdoor, and online sessions. The firm specialises in Transactional Analysis (TA) and Inner Relationship Focusing, addressing issues such as anxiety, climate change anxiety, autism/neurodivergence, and trauma.
Key operational details and Service Formats: Offers face-to-face, walk-and-talk (outdoor), and various online methods including video, phone, email, and live chat.
Focuses on adults, particularly autistic women, non-binary individuals, and those with long-term conditions or carers.
Fees: Individual counselling is priced at £65 per session. Contact Lucy if you are unable to afford this as limited lower-fee sessions are sometimes available.
If you’re contacting Lucy from outside the United Kingdom, please use email and do NOT telephone.
If you call there is no guarantee your message will be received.
When providing audio counselling outside the UK, Lucy uses Zoom or similar VOIP software.
Online therapy is offered in four different ways: email, live instant messaging (IM), web-cam (video) or telephone.
With email therapy, Lucy typically responds to emails within 48 hours (72 hours over a weekend).
With instant messaging, webcam and telephone sessions, appointments last for around 50 minutes.
Webcam sessions take place on Zoom, and we can both see each other’s faces.
With telephone counselling we normally use IP software to make calls online via a PC, tablet or mobile.
Cancellation Policy:
There is a 48-hr cancellation policy, so if you need to cancel a session within this time, the full fee is payable. This applies even if you are ill as time slots can't usually be filled at such short notice. However, if we can agree a session time for later in the same week, we can reschedule instead.
If you have a health condition that could impact on you being able to attend sessions regularly, please mention this when you get in touch so that we can discuss how best to accommodate this.
